Hawk Band
Hi all,
Thank you everyone for a wonderful Fall Marching Season. We have played our final football game of the season and can now fully transition into the concert band season. I hope everyone was able to enjoy time with family and friends over the break. While this was our last football game in the Alamodome, we will have one more opportunity to play as a group for the All American Bowl on January 6th. This game will be nationally televised and consists of all of the greatest high school football players in the nation.
With only three short weeks before our next break, there are plenty of things the students will be a part of. Please make sure you check the calendar for the next three weeks. Jazz band, percussion ensemble, and steel band will continue their practices this week. We will also start up our practices for Indoor Winds and Winterguard this week as well. Not all students are involved in all of these activities so please look at the calendar closely. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. We are almost to the end of the year and we want to make sure to finish strong.
Lastly, please read the section below about *“Student Items Needed”. *We are going into our new season of concert band and the staff and I have noticed some things that need to be improved on this upcoming semester. Wind students will need a Binder to keep their music organized (cannot be a folder), a pencil to stay in their binder to make any markings on their music, a tuner to get their instruments in tune (two options are below), and their instrument which should be brought to everyday for every rehearsal. Grades will be input this week if students are missing any of these items.
